Complaints

We are delighted to hear from those who use our services and find them helpful. However we realise that there are a minority who feel they have some form of complaint about the service received and we want you to know what you can do and what will happen in such a case. We want to provide the best possible service and we always want to resolve any complaints. We will therefore read/listen carefully to what is said and respond. We will also learn any lessons that mean we need to change our procedures for the future. Please contact us in the following ways:

By Post: Paragon teaching Schools, Phoenix School, Orton Malborne, Peterborough, PE2 5QA

By Phone: 01733 391666

By Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We will pass your complaint to the person concerned and request them to respond to you initially within five working days. In most cases the complaint will be able to be resolved by the person within that time. However, where the case cannot be resolved within 10 working days, the complaint will be investigated by the Line Manager responsible for looking after complaints and you will hear further from him/her within a further 20 working days. (These turnaround times may be longer over Christmas and New Year or because of staff holiday/sickness). If you are still dissatisfied with the outcome then the complaint will be referred to the Managing Director. Clear notes will be kept as to the procedures to be carried out and you will receive full details of the Managing Director’s decision.

Initial teacher training

Phoenix School Direct Programme PGCE with QTS.

Phoenix School is a Teaching school and forms part of the Paragon Teaching School Alliance.

Paragon Teaching School Alliance works in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University to offer our School Direct programme for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) across both the primary and secondary phases. This school-led programme enables successful trainees to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and 60 credits towards a Masters level qualification.

There are several opportunities to meet the School Direct team. We hold open evenings and open mornings throughout the year. You will have the opportunity to meet the key members of staff involved with School Direct and initial teacher training.

How does the programme work?

Trainees are placed in their host school from the start of the year and typically spend six weeks in a second school to ensure a breadth of experience. Complementing the programme of training sessions at Bishop Grosseteste University, we draw on the expertise and strengths of outstanding classroom teachers, mentors and leadership team members from across the alliance to support participants through a tailored training programme. Through our partnership of largely Outstanding and Good schools we offer training places in a wide range of subjects and phases which change annually based on school demand – check the UCAS Teacher Training website for latest information on availability

Why choose Phoenix School Direct?

Aspiring teachers on our School Direct programme have the opportunity to work and train within an alliance with diversity at its core. Our alliance of schools is dedicated to making a difference to the lives of some of the most disadvantaged young people in the city.

Phoenix School is developing both a local and national reputation for being a centre of excellence within teaching and learning and continues to offer a plethora of training opportunities for all staff.
We continue to build on our strong culture where Phoenix staff see themselves as educators working in partnership with families and teams of multi professionals.

The age range is from 3 -19 serving the Peterborough catchment and local neighbouring authorities primary, secondary and sixth-form all on one site, alongside the new 14-19 provision.

Phoenix School has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted on three consecutive inspections. Similarly, BG University has been commended in 2015 as a good provider for all its school-based ITT provision.  If you are ambitious, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and working with young people, we want to hear from you!

In what subjects/phases are you offering training places 2016-17?
The Phoenix School Direct Programme is recruiting ambitious and committed future teachers to Training Route places in primary We do not anticipate offering Salaried Route places in 2016-17.

Primary trainees may register for either lower primary (Foundation Stage and KS1) or Upper primary (Key Stage 2)

We are delighted to work alongside our partner primary and secondary schools to offer this School Direct programme. Successful applicants may be placed at any of our partner schools.
